Masked rider kabuto ps2 game

Special transformations allow the player to tear down enemies with lightning quick speed and intense impact. Battles typically concluding in a grandiose explosion of flair and robotic parts.

The length of the game could be seen as a problem for some, but its old age now results in a much lower price. Kamen Rider Kabuto has a soundtrack that perfectly complements its source material.

Waving and pulsating synths give the entire game a real classic feel to it. Elevated by some killer vocals that harken back to the Japanese television openings of the time. Kamen Rider Kabuto is of course based on the franchise of the same name, and due to that acts as an adaptation of some of the more notable events within said franchise.

Capturing and showcasing direct events such as major fights and other plot points. The game manages to be mostly similar to the original, but sometimes changes a few things for more dramatic effect. Most of these changes only serve to make the story more suited for a video game format, and most of them simply change how things happen and not what exactly happens.

Outside of that, there are a few completely original stages that help elongate the game and give the player even more content than before. Outside of the normal single player mode, Kabuto has a multiplayer mode as well. It is a rather simple couch versus mode which feels mostly the same as the main game.

It is well made enough but lacks enough additive systems to make it feel worth trying out alongside the single player. Kamen Rider Kabuto is a very fun game that is a loving remembrance to its source material. The visual design and storyline is accurate to the original franchise and though the combat may be repetitive after a while, it is still incredibly fun and the game never overstays its welcome.

Send Skip Hide. Message Sent. I think. I am writing it because of my love of Kamen Rider Kabuto, and because of the many requests for a guide for this game from the few non-Japanese users in the gamespot community that are playing it.

I will attempt to include as much information as possible. Kamen Rider Kabuto's story centers around a meteorite that falls to earth seven years before the beginning of the series. Which destroys Shibuya city and brings with it hostile aliens called Worms that can mimic human appearance and memories.

The Masked Rider System is a series of small intelligent robots called "Zecters" and their interface equipment that when joined to a host give the host weapons and abilities that can effect time and space and ultimately defeat the Worms. Each Zecter is unique and so each "Rider"'s appearance and special abilities are also unique, but they do all share some common abilities like the ability to move a super speed while in a "Clock Up" state. The story progresses introducing ever more powerful Riders and Worms and ends with a final climactic battle.

However this game does not cover the entirety of the Kamen Rider Kabuto story, but covers most of the series and the two movies that were released the same year, one in theaters and one on DVD.

See the Unlockables section for details on how to access these modes. This mode is seperated into three routes; "Kabuto Route": Takes you through a series of battles as Kamen Rider Kabuto that correspond to key events in the story involving that character. You must complete all three routes to complete single player Story Mode. To play this mode with only one character, which is important for unlocking new characters, choose your first character and then press Triangle.

The matches in this mode are single matches, there is no story or continuation after the end of a match. Two players can play against each other with any of the characters you have unlocked. In this mode enemies will sometimes drop power-ups in the form of various foods that appeared in the show. Here is what I know about them; "Tropical Ramen": This seems to appear at random and subtracts from the green status bar if you pick it up.

So you should usually try not to, unless you are trying to pick them up to unlock the two characters that can be unlocked by getting a certain number of them. This is one of the two most useful of the power-ups. As you view them in single player Story Mode you will unlock them.

In Demo Viewer Mode, first you choose what kind of cinematic you want to watch. Then you choose which character or characters you want to see in the cinematic if possible. And finally you choose which of the games stages you want the cinematic to take place in if possible.

I will not be providing a complete translation of all of the cinematics because there are so many, and my Japanese is not top notch. If someone else wants to provide a translation I would be happy to include it in the next version of this FAQ. During Clock Up pressing Square will perform a dash attack against the next enemy. Clock Up: which allows characters to enter a state of super speed for a limited time if possible after they have changed into their more powerful form and filled the green status bar.

This button can be used to perform combo attacks. With most characters it can be used with a direction to perform a variety of attacks. It can also be used with the R1, Circle, and Square buttons to perform a clearing attack, a throw, and to change weapons or use a special weapon or attack respectively. The Pupaworm and White Pupaworm are the only exceptions. The Pupaworm is simply the original form of all of the worm characters in the game. The White Pupaworm is included because it does appear in the game but it is unknown how to unlock this character, it is included for the sake of completeness.

See the Unlockables section for details on how to access these characters. While marginally effective against Pupaworms they are entirely ineffective against molted Worms. Touted as the most powerful of the riders, he is really a mysterious man named Tendou Souji who vows to protect Earth from the Worms. So everyday he goes about fighting the Worms, quoting his grandmother, and "Walking the path of Heaven". Kamen Rider Kabuto is armed with a multipurpose weapon that can be used as a gun, axe, and knife, and has a personal motorcycle as do most of the riders.

Kamen Rider Kabuto's finishing move is the "Rider Kick". In this form Kamen Rider Hyper Kabuto can move many times faster than other riders and can summon the "Perfect Zecter" which is a weapon that can combine the powers of almost all of the other Zecters and perform devastating attacks. He is a compassionate leader and believes in a philosophy of "Perfect Harmony".

However he falls into a competitive struggle with Kamen Rider Kabuto and becomes more selfish, at which time the TheBee Zecter forsakes him and he disappears. He eventually has to choose between his new status as Kamen Rider TheBee and his new friendship with Tendou Souji, and chooses to abandon the TheBee Zecter in favor of his friend. However he is saved by an old friend and the two of them start down a dark path.

He does not like violence and uses the Drake Zecter reluctantly at first, but as he is drawn further into the struggle with the Worms, and for the sake of his young charge Gon, he becomes passionate about fighting the Worms as Kamen Rider Drake.

He is not a member of ZECT and so is also hounded by them. Kamen Rider Drake is armed with the Drake Zecter which takes the form of a large handgun and can be used to execute many long range attacks. Kamen Rider Drake's finishing move is "Rider Shooting". He seems very wealthy and powerful, and physically able to match even Tendou Souji. Wielding the Sasword Zecter he freelances for ZECT, destroying Worms and collecting fees for his trouble, but he is soon let go and bankrupted.

He continues fighting the Worms until he sells the Sasword Zecter to Tendou Souji to try to rebuild his finances. However there is a sleeping power inside Kamishiro which is known only to a few others.
