Roxio creator 2009 will not install

After that - make a folder anywhere on the computer and copy the DVD contents into it and then go there and run setup. Well I went through those steps, copied the disk to a folder on my Desktop then tried to install Creator from the desktop folder. I got the Wizard install interruption again. Then I realized I forgot to turn the firewall off so I went back and done that. It would not let me uninstall it! It said "setup error". I tried again to install Creator from the file on the desktop.

It gets to Gathering Information and then stops with the Wizard install interruption message Yep, I went through the registry instructions, but I didn't have any of the files that it said I would need to delete. I booted in Safe Mode and a login for Administrator came up so I picked that one and went into the control panel and attempted to remove the dotNET 3. Choose Retry or Cancel. I chose Retry and got the same message again. Luckily I am able to email you from my laptop while trying to install Creator on my desktop.

It is beginning to sound as if there is something seriously amiss on your computer and that Vista is, as we say here, 'playing silly beggars'. You should be able to remove files - that's a given. It sounds more drastic than it actually is I do it regurarly on this machine when things start to go crazy and don't behave as expected. Actually stuff on XP should be easier to uninstall - it's not as paranoid as Vista over access so it does sound as though something is very much amiss on the operating system.

I'm having one of those 'less than clear thinking days'. Well your not going to believe this I got to thinking I am doing the happy dance! Hopefully this post will help someone in my position in the future.

Maybe what did make a difference this time is after I changed the setup file name I turned off the firewall, the antivirus and shut down some programs that were running that I knew didn't need to be. That is the only thing I could have done differently and I learned that from the correspondence on this forum! You guys need to be on Roxios payroll!!!! I was prepraing tapes for a dance group. I was just as frustrated with the equipment then.

The choregrapher could not tell the difference between her "counts" and the sound of the splices she wanted. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. You can try compatibility mode. If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

You can find virtualization software free of charge that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

However, Roxio Creator Ultimate shows it needs an upgrade. Restarted the computer many times and now I seem to have the basic version working ok - but cannot run or download files for the new version.

When the computer starts or re-starts a Windows Installer screen comes on to say a network resource is unavailale for. But the new version - Creator Download Manager - will not allow me to download files for the new version.

Very fustrating! Once you get the download straightened out, I strongly recommend you printout the Clean Install and follow that step by step for your install! With all that you have done up to now, you have a disaster in a box and you really need to get it cleaned up….

Many thanks for the replies. Yes, I've already done a clean install for the version; and also did a clean install for the Creator Basic v9, which HP installed when I first bought the computer not even a year old yet.

I will phone and hope they can send me a CD - then it would just be a matter of going through the setup and installation - and I sure hope that works! Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it. Thank you so much for the replies. Good news - I phoned Roxio Support - they to walked me through the installation, I had to do yet another clean installation of both Creator Basic v9 from HP and Creator and files were deleted.

Restarted the computer - and installed Creator Then a network resource cannot be found! Originally the download manager downloaded files to the desktop and I installed it from there. I sure hope it doesn't mean I have to uninstall this - and then install it from a folder on the hard drive? I also wonder, in this forum - how do you change the title of the post? Update or edit the title? I do not understand why you would want to put on your OEM V9 back on your system???

I would guess that the errors you are seeing are due to the 2 being on there. That's the way I installed mine. I right clicked on the file and extracted the contents, of the. Install worked fine. Thanks for the posts. How do I restore the. Do I have to uninstall - before I can install from my hard drive. Before I just clicked on the files in the 'download' folder on my desktop - will this correct the issue if on my c: drive?

I suggest that rather than blindly poking a stick at it, he continue to work this out with tech support. OK I have done a clean uninstall for Roxio Creator , deleted all files etc. Now when I start the program, windows installer comes up saying "network resource cannot find a installation file". Did you extract the.
