Read only wordperfect files
When I try to open it and continue using it, I have to rename each time. I've verified that the "read only" option is not checked. Anyone have any solutions? If the hard disk used to store the files is formatted using NTFS, it's possible that the files have read-only permissions applied to them.
I vaguely remembered WP 11 having issues with NTFS permissions but it took a bit of digging googling, really to find potential fixes. Adjustments are made to the margins, font size, and line spacing, to force the text into the smaller space. You can control which adjustments are made. For example, if you do not want to alter the document margins, you could only allow adjustments to the font size and line spacing.
Enter the desired number of pages, then enable or disable the check boxes to control which adjustments are made. Choose Make It Fit. Figure 3 Make It Fit adjusts margins, font size and line spacing to expand or contract text so that it fits within a specific number of pages.
The most common problem with copying and pasting between documents is that formatting codes are inadvertently copied over with the text where they can cause problems and unexpected results. Since the codes are invisible until you turn on Reveal Codes, you probably don't even realize you are inserting extra codes when you paste text from other sources. That is, until the pasted-in codes cause conflicts with the existing codes.
The solution is simply to paste the text in without any formatting, so the text adopts the formatting of the source document. This called Paste Unformatted and appears as a shortcut on the QuickMenu. After you select and copy the text you need, switch to the source document and position the insertion point where you want to paste the text.
Right-click, then choose Paste Unformatted Text. How often would you say that you create a new document by opening an existing document and making changes to it? And how often do you forget to change the name of the existing document and accidentally save your changes on top of the original?
Probably more often that you care to admit. There is a simple way to make sure it doesn't happen again. Notice that there are two buttons: Open and Open as copy. If you click Open as copy, instead of Open, the file opens in a read-only mode. This means you will not be able to save changes back to the original name — you'll have to rename the file to save any changes. Open as copy prevents you from accidentally modifying important files.

That's what a template is. You can save hours of formatting if you take advantage of WordPerfect's templates. A small collection of templates is installed when you install WordPerfect. You can see the list by choosing File, New From Project.
Make sure WordPerfect appears in the drop-down list. Additional templates are available in a free download. Although the templates were written for WordPerfect 10, they will work just fine in WordPerfect The templates can be downloaded from OfficeCommunity.
To download a template or project zip file from OfficeCommunity. To download a template, click the name of the template you are interested in. This opens that template's folder on the FTP server. Within each template's folder is a file named Template and Project - Read Me. This file contains detailed information about installing the templates in WordPerfect. There are some other extras on the ftp site. First, there is a Zip file called WP 10 Temp that contains all the template files so that you can download the whole collection at one time.
Third, there is a thumbnail folder in each category, containing a GIF file that shows you what each created project form might look like. If you download a Zip file, extract the template files. Now, you're ready to add them into WordPerfect. Click the Options button, and then select Refresh Projects from the list. Click Yes to confirm. On my system, the downloaded templates were stored in a WordPerfect 10 category, so if you don't see the new templates in the list, open the drop-down list of categories and select WordPerfect When you open one of the WordPerfect 10 templates, you may see a message stating that the PerfectExpert resource file couldn't be found.

Create the first label. Choose Tools, Merge.
